Minor Surgery

Some of our GP’s carry out routine minor surgical procedures as an enhanced service at the Medical Centre. The GP’s are happy to arrange a future appointment for surgery if required. An internal referral will be made to Helen Davies, our surgical list co-ordinator, who will list you at the earliest opportunity. You will be contacted by letter with an appointment date and time for your treatment. 

Surgical Services at Spa Medical Centre

Spa is commissioned by Wiltshire PCT to deliver the following services as day cases, in a primary care setting. These services are available to all eligible patients living in Wiltshire, not just for patients registered at Spa.  A referral is made by the GP to Spa, either directly by letter or electronically by the Choose & Book service.  If the referral is via Choose & Book, the patient can contact Spa's surgical list co-ordinator and book an appointment.  If the referral is via letter, Helen will contact the paient to book an appointment.

Extended Minor Surgery service

This service differs from the routine minor surgery service and is available to patients with more complex conditions.  Dr Rupert Gabriel, Dr Fiona Armstrong are the GP surgeons who provide this service.  There is also a specially trained surgical nurse, Debbie Todd, who carries out some of the procedures, guided by Dr Gabriel and Dr Armstrong.

Carpal Tunnel Service

Dr Claire Rigby and Dr Rupert Gabriel are the GP surgeons who provide this service at the Medical Centre. We have been providing this service since 2004 and are very proud of our achievements to date.

Vasectomy Service

Dr Rupert Gabriel, Dr Rob Matthews and Dr Fiona Armstrong are the GP surgeons who provide this service.  This service was re-introduced in 2008 and is once again provided on the NHS at Spa.
