Dressings Service

Following the closure of the Minor Injury Unit at Melksham Hospital on 30th September 2007, Spa Medical Centre is now responsible for dressings and wound care.  Following an operation, patients who require the removal of stitches and clips, wound review and ongoing dressings can access this service.

All treatments for Minor Injuries now takes place at Trowbridge and Chippenham Hospitals and it may be necessary for some patients to be referred to the practice for dressings. You will be advised by our colleagues at the hospital when to attend. All appointments are to be booked in advance as we do not offer a walk in service so please contact reception to arrange an appointment.

Should you feel there is an urgent need for a dressing then please access our triage system in the normal way. The Leg Ulcer Clinic at Melksham Hospital continues to care for our patients with leg ulcers, please take further advice for this service either at the hospital or at the practice. We have a dedicated team of nurses involved in running the dressing clinics who also work closely with the Doctors, District Nurses and Wound Care Specialist Nurses to ensure the patients at Spa Medical Centre receive the highest standard of care.
