The availability of a Pharmacy on the premises is a huge advantage and provides much more than just a simple dispensing service. 

The Pharmacy staff are more than happy to answer enquiries concerning both prescribed and non-prescribed medication and they liase very closely with our Doctors and Nurses.  They are an excellent source of information and advice for many minor ailments. 

Pharmacy is open from 09.00am  to 18.30pm, Monday to Friday, closing between 13:00 and 14:00 for lunch.

Repeat Prescriptions

The Pharmacy handles all requests for repeat prescriptions, which can be made either in person or by telephone to the Pharmacy (free phone number 0500 703183).  Repeat prescriptions will be issued at the doctor’s discretion and are normally for patients on regular medication and must be authorised within the patient’s notes by your GP.  Repeat prescriptions can be obtained without seeing the Doctor.

Requests for prescriptions are usually made on the request slip attached to your prescription and posted into the box next to the Gompels Pharmacy, online or sent to us by post.  The Receptionists are not authorised to take requests for medication over the telephone. 

Your prescription will be available for collection within 48 hours, please make allowances for weekends and public holidays.  This amount of time is required to generate the prescription form, check it, get it signed by your doctor and then have it ready for collection at the Pharmacy of your choice. 

Online Repeat Prescription Ordering

In order to access this service, you need to come into the surgery where you will receive a username and password.  Once you've registered, you will be able to request repeat prescriptions and also book appointments online. Please click on the link below.

PATIENTS WITH EMIS ACCESS LOGIN DETAILS

If you previously used the EMISaccess website to book appointments or request repeat prescriptions, you will now have to use a different one - SystmOnline - due to the change in computer systems at the Practice.  You will be able to use the same login details.

On EMISaccess, you will have used the following information to log in:

• Access ID
• Practice ID - (1848)
• password

On SystmOnline, you will need:

• username
• password

Your SystmOnline user name will be 'AccessID_1848'. Your password remains the same.

As SystmOnline has stricter password requirements than EMISaccess, you are encouraged to change your password the first time you log in so that it is at least eight characters and includes at least one number and one non-alphanumeric character, e.g. '!' or '?'

If you have forgotten your EMISaccess details, please let us know.  We will provide them for you and reset your password.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
