Online Appointments

We offer our patients the opportunity to book regular GP appointments over the internet. If you are interested in registering for this service, please read carefully the information below.

  1. Registration to use the online facilities is at the discretion of Spa Medical Centre
  2. You can only use the service if you are sixteen years or over
  3. You must register in person and cannot register on behalf of anyone else
  4. The system is hosted and managed by Egton Medical Information Systems (Emis) based in Leeds
  5. Spa Medical Centre cannot be held responsible if you are unable to logon to the system because of a problem with the internet or the host server
  6. Both Emis and Spa Medical Centre reserve the right to withdraw access to any patient without warning if they feel they are abusing the system
  7. The system will be unavailable between 2am and 4am as it is being backed up
  8. If you register to use this service, you are deemed to have read, fully understood and agree to the above terms and conditions

REGISTRATION

Registration is a 2 stage process, the first being to register at the surgery when you will be given some login information. The second is to register at the EmisAccess website.

We are not able to accept request for repeat prescriptions for children under the age of 16 at present. But we are actively looking at the possibility for the future.

STAGE 1 - REGISTER AT THE PRACTICE

If you are over 16 years of age, you must come in to the surgery in person and ask at reception. You must have proof of identity which shows the address that we have you registered at. You cannot register on behalf of anyone else

The surgery is a very busy between 8:30am and 10am every day. We would appreciate it if you could avoid this time to register for this service and obtain your Personal Identification Number.

STAGE 2 - REGISTER ON THE WEBSITE

Once your identity has been confirmed, you will be given a document which will contain a Personal Identification Number, Personal Access Number and instructions on how to register on the website for the service. For the security of both yourself and the Practice, you must not disclose this information to anyone else. Children under 16 cannot register for this service.

  1. Click on the link above
  2. Click on Create your account
  3. You will need to enter the following information from your registration letter:
    • PIN number
    • Practice ID number
    • Access ID Number
    • NHS number
  4. Click Submit
  5. Please enter your:
    • Surname
    • Date of Birth
    • Enter a password
    • Reconfirm the password
    • Select a security question and enter the answer
  6. Click Submit

You should see a window saying you have successfully registered. If you see a window saying your registration was unsuccessful, please re-try before calling the practice.

If you want to request a repeat prescription straight away, click on homepage.

If you want to request a repeat prescription in the future, you access the system via this website or directly at https://access.e-mis.co.uk where you will need to enter Practice ID Number, Access ID Number and password to log in.

REQUESTING MEDICATION

When you have completed the registration, follow the on screen instructions to request repeat medication.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU NEED TO CHANGE YOUR ACCESS/PIN NUMBER

If you forget your access or pin number or you think that someone else knows this number, you will need to come to the surgery in person with proof of your identity which shows the address that we have you registered at. We will then cancel your existing registration and re-issue you with a new document. You will then have to re-register your details again on the website.
